Bio Sketch

Dr. Fraser received his Bachelor of Science degree and MD degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax.  He completed residency training in Neurology at Western University and fellowship training in Neuro-Ophthalmology at Emory University in Atlanta.  He is board-certified in Neurology by both the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Fraser is currently an Associate Professor at Western University with a primary appointment in the Department of Clinical Neurological Sciences and a cross-appointment in the Department of Ophthalmology.

Referral Information:

Neuro-ophthalmology referrals ONLY.  General neurology and general ophthalmology referrals not accepted.

Dr. Fraser cannot accept referrals from optometrists directly; referrals must come from an MD. 

Referring physicians must send all relevant information along with the referral request to allow appropriate triaging.  This includes relevant imaging reports, clinic notes, visual field printouts.  Inadequate or incomplete information may result in longer wait times for your patient.


Dr. Fraser has research interests in idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH), optic neuritis, optic disc drusen, pituitary tumor-related vision loss, mitochondrial disease, vascular neuro-ophthalmology, and the neuro-ophthalmology of Parkinson disease.  He also has academic interests in issues pertaining to resident and medical student education.
