Bio Sketch

Dr. Fraser received his Bachelor of Science degree and MD degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax.  He completed residency training in Neurology at Western University and fellowship training in Neuro-Ophthalmology at Emory University in Atlanta.  He is board-certified in Neurology by both the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Fraser is currently an Assistant Professor at Western University with a primary appointment in the Department of Clinical Neurological Sciences and a cross-appointment in the Department of Ophthalmology.

Referral Information:

Neuro-ophthalmology referrals ONLY.  General neurology and general ophthalmology referrals not accepted.

Dr. Fraser is registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons as a neurlogist not an ophthalmologist therefore he cannot accept referrals from optometrists directly.  Such referrals must come from an MD. 

Referring physicians must send all relevant information along with the referaal request to allow appropriate triaging.  This includes relevant imaging reports, clinic notes, visual field printouts.  Inadequate or incomplete information may result in longer wait times for you patient.

Research

Dr. Fraser has research interests in idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH), optic neuritis, pituitary tumor-repated vision loss, mitochondrial disease, central processing of visual perception and action, vascular neuro-ophthalmology, and the neuro-ophthalmology of Parkinson's diesease.  He also has an interest in issues pertaining to resident and medical student education.
